A Space for highs, lows and growth

women’s health

Under the pelvic health umbrella, there is so much that women are not routinely taught. What exercise is safe? How do I prepare for birth? What is “normal” postpartum? Wellness visits are the perfect place to gain knowledge and address your specific concerns. Perhaps you just want some guidance on when and how to modify exercise throughout pregnancy. What, specific to your body, can you work on to stay as active as possible throughout pregnancy? Or how do I get back to exercise after having a baby? That is what I am here for. I want to walk through those questions with you, giving you the knowledge you need to make wise and informed decisions about your body and health.

Physical Therapy

Wellness

Women experience many challenges while pregnant or recovering from birth. Having completed several pelvic health continuing education courses, I have the unique skills to address concerns specifically related to the pelvic floor both during pregnancy and postpartum. These might include pain related to pregnancy, or pain with intercourse postpartum. Perhaps it is leaking a little (or a lot) with certain activities (or many) during or after pregnancy. There is help! There are so many things we can do to address these changes and challenges that come from having a child.

Prenatal Preparation

In planning Firm Foundation Physical Therapy, one of my dreams was to help women understand the changes in their body while they are pregnant. Stay tuned for specific prenatal classes coming soon…
